The Ontario Health Care
Housekeepers’ Association, an Ontario Hospital Associate, is a progressive
organization that offers you a network to help you with any challenges
that occur, especially needed with today’s health care restructuring and
the many hats most of you are wearing. Being a member is an investment in
ourselves. The cost of belonging to our Association is a small amount
compared to what we get in return.
Membership in the O.H.H.A. offers the opportunity to participate in
educational programs. Our Association now offers the Professional
Healthcare Housekeeper, a program the enhances your
managerial skills and your career in the health-care support service
field, with courses such as Infection Control, Housekeeping, Methodology
and Laundry and Linen Technology. The O.H.H.A. recognizes the continuing
education courses offered by the O.H.H.A. as credits towards
certification.
Also available are educational sessions giving you up to the minute
information and changes in our profession. These educational sessions give
you a chance to meet your fellow members, an ideal mode of networking.
The aim of the Association is to provide you with the knowledge that you
need to be effective and efficient, especially in these times of great
challenges. To provide you also with effective leadership and effective
representation at the O.H.H.A. level.
The fundamental objectives of our Association are as follows:
- To foster and
promote harmony and cooperation amongst it's members.
- Collect and
disseminate information and current data on new improved techniques and
equipment in the Housekeeping/Environmental Industry.
- To encourage,
arrange and promote educational programs for and on behalf of the
Association members for the advancement of the
Housekeeping/Environmental profession in the interest of improved
customer care.
